Activating Your Licence

Enter your licence key to unlock the premium features included in your plan.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

PB Gig Diary installed and activated — see Installation
Your licence key from your purchase or trial confirmation email

Received a trial key? Trial keys work exactly the same way — enter your PBGD- key on the Licence tab to activate your 14-day Studio-tier trial. No credit card required.

Can’t find your licence key? Check your spam folder for an email from support@purebaltic.co.uk. If you still can’t find it, contact support@purebaltic.co.uk with your purchase email address and we’ll resend it.

Activating your licence

Go to Gig Diary → Settings in your WordPress admin sidebar
Click the Licence tab at the top of the settings page
Enter your licence key in the Licence Key field
The key is in the format PBGD-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Click Activate
PB Gig Diary will contact our licence server to validate your key. This takes a few seconds.
Confirmation — you should see a green banner showing your licence tier and update expiry date

Tip Once activated, your licence key is stored securely on your server. You won’t need to enter it again unless you move to a new server or reinstall WordPress.

Enabling auto-updates

Once your licence is active, PB Gig Diary appears in the WordPress auto-updates system. To enable automatic updates:

Go to Plugins in your WordPress admin
Find PB Gig Diary in the list
Click “Enable auto-updates” in the right-hand column

WordPress will then update the plugin automatically whenever a new version is released, just like any WordPress.org plugin.

Troubleshooting

Activation fails with “Invalid licence key”

Double-check the key was copied correctly — it’s easy to miss a character. Keys are in the format PBGD-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Try copying directly from your confirmation email rather than typing it manually.

Activation fails with “Licence limit reached”

Your licence has been activated on the maximum number of sites allowed. To activate on this site, deactivate the licence on another site first via Gig Diary → Settings → Licence → Deactivate this machine. If you need more activations, upgrade your plan.

Activation fails with a connection error

PB Gig Diary needs to connect to our licence server at verify.purebaltic.co.uk to validate your key. If your server blocks outbound HTTPS connections, activation will fail. Contact your host to allow outbound HTTPS connections to verify.purebaltic.co.uk.

The Licence tab shows “Free” after activation

Try deactivating and reactivating the plugin — go to Plugins, deactivate PB Gig Diary, then activate it again. Your licence key will still be stored and should revalidate automatically.
