Gig management for working musicians

Renewing Updates

Renewing & Updates

Your plugin keeps working after your update period expires — renewal is optional and gives you access to new features and improvements.

How update entitlement works

Every PB Gig Diary licence includes 12 months of free updates from the date of purchase. During this period you’ll receive all new features, improvements, and security updates automatically via the WordPress update system.

After 12 months your update entitlement expires. The plugin continues to work exactly as before — your gigs, setlists, songs, and Google Calendar sync all keep running. The only thing that stops is access to new updates.

What happens when entitlement expires

FeatureAfter expiry
All existing features✓ Continue to work as normal
Your gig data✓ Unchanged — nothing is deleted
Google Calendar sync✓ Continues working
Public gig listings✓ Continue to display
Licence activation✓ Remains active
Plugin updates✗ No longer available until renewed
New features✗ Not accessible until renewed

Renewing your update entitlement

Renewal is available at 50% of the original purchase price. To renew:

  1. Visit the PB Gig Diary pricing page and purchase your plan at the renewal price
  2. You’ll receive a new licence key by email
  3. Deactivate your current licence

Go to Gig Diary → Settings → Licence → Deactivate this machine

  4. Enter your new licence key and click Activate
  5. Your update entitlement is reset to 12 months from today
No rush There’s no penalty for renewing late. If your entitlement expired six months ago and you decide to renew, you’ll get a full fresh 12 months from the date of renewal — not from when it expired.

Checking your expiry date

Your current update entitlement expiry date is shown on the Licence tab — go to Gig Diary → Settings → Licence and look for Free updates until:.

Is renewal worth it?

That’s entirely up to you. If PB Gig Diary is doing everything you need and you’re happy with the current version, there’s no pressure to renew. The plugin will keep working indefinitely.

Renewal makes sense if you want to stay on the latest version, benefit from new features as they’re added, or ensure compatibility with future WordPress versions.
